Our Story

The Geaux Harvest project initiated in July 2025. First was the development of the 26-acre Valentine property, which is a 7-mile trip up the road from the market site & is where the gardens & orchard are located. Currently, the development continues at the soon to be market location off Hwy 13.

At Valentine, a spring crop was planted in February & March 2026 and the team worked hard, starting the journey of establishing long-term systems & procedures so we can begin to continuously provide quality home-grown foods! We will utilize a combination of conventional & modern techniques to establish our own unique growing methods. Geaux Harvest Farms will not be a 100% organic farm, but we will use organic methods & aim to reduce non-organic methods to a minimum. Season over season we will record various data points & monitor trends in yields & inputs aimed at promoting an increase in quality & efficiency.

We look forward to you following along with the journey.

Welcome to Farmer’s Market & More

The official storefront for Geaux Harvest Farms. Located in Evangeline Parish, 5 miles north of Eunice off Hwy 13, our mission is simple: to harvest fresh, quality, locally grown foods for our neighbors and nearby communities.

We are hard at work preparing our fields, farm market, and kitchen, and we look forward to opening our doors to the community in Summer 2027!

Honey Bees on the Farm

We manage our own on-site honeybee colonies to generate fresh honey & other products along with helping pollination.

What’s Growing at Geaux Harvest Farms

We cultivate a farm that honors classic Southern flavors. Our fields change with the seasons, featuring distinct growing cycles & permanent crops.

The Gardens:

Spring – Corn, tomatoes, peas, beans, okra, cucumber, eggplant, peppers, and more
Fall/Winter: Mustard greens, carrots, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, beets, and more.

The Orchard:

A young fruit-tree orchard with 200 trees in the ground & 100 locations ready for planting this winter. We are working towards a future harvest of peaches, figs, apples, plums, pears, limes, lemons, and satsumas.

The “Geaux Harvest” Berry Patch:

Winter 2026-2027 we will plant a variety of blackberries & blueberries, with strawberries joining the patch the following year. (U-PICK)
(Note: The orchard and berry patches will be ready for harvest in 2–3 years!)
